Wilkinson Residence

Here's a residence that defines a new meaning to tree house. The home was designed by organic architect Robert Harvey Oshatz in 2004 as a house that blends in well with the landscape. The house is located in the forest of Portland, OR and is made of local building materials of wood and glass. Connections are made between the house, nature, and a musical theme that the client wanted integrated into the overall design. The house sits on a steep lot which allows a greater connection with the tree canopy. Overall an interesting way to make a design, but I wonder how sustainable the systems are other than the connections with nature.
